THE LOST GENERATION
The Lost Generation only released two albums for Brunswick in the early ‘70s before disbanding, but in that short time they made quite an impact with three Top 40 R&B singles, and even cracked the Pop charts with the Top 30 hit “The Sly, Slick & The Wicked.” The Chicago-based group, featuring the vocal talents of Jesse Dean, Larry Brownlee and brothers Lowrell & Fred Simon, excelled at sweet soul ballads like “Wait A Minute” and “Someday” but also tackled funky, horn-driven R&B with “Talking The Teenage Language.” Long appreciated by crate-digging soul music fans, their timeless songs are ripe for rediscovery.
